Prevention and mitigation refers to strategies implemented to decrease the impact of a potential emergency. CITF completes a hazard analysis through various risk assessments to determine the highest ranking threats and therefore put in place appropriate prevention and mitigation strategies related to these threats. Workshops are expected to complete a Job Safety Analysis and continuously brief trainees on these and record the briefs in trainee’s files
