Human Resources Department is responsible for recruiting, hiring, training staff. The overall welfare of staff is also managed in this department. The CITF Human Resources department is responsible for a staff compliment of 150 employees of which 75% is based at the Gaborone main centre. Staff pensions, medical aids, benefits, disciplinary actions are also managed in this department. During exercises like interviews and disciplinary hearings, the HR department through The Human Resources Manager or Executive Director may seek assistance from other senior staff members for assistance. This is to provide guidance in different areas of speciality and also advice on issues of conflict of interest. The health and wellness of staff is one of the most important in the HR department as if not managed well, the institution can have low staff morale which will result in underperformance and lost time due to sick leaves.
